On Friday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was in town hosting an event for Senate Candidate Mark Kirk in St. Charles.  It was an honor to attend the event at the historic St. Charles Country Club.  It was exciting to see many young Republicans attending the event..including Kendall County YR Chair Scott Snyder and Matthew Mursewick.  Thanks to Brad Urhausen, who helps coordinate Mark Kirk’s activities in Kane County for arranging our campaign to be at the event.
After St. Charles, we headed to McHenry County where the McHenry County Republicans had a grand opening of their new headquarters.  We got there late but it was great to meet up with Vice Chairman Kathleen Kuchta and Vice Chairman John McCroay.  Congratulations to State Rep. Mike Tryon, who is also the chairman of the McHenry County Republican Organization for creating the energy and excitement in McHenry County for our candidates on November 2nd.  I can’t wait to be back in McHenry County next Saturday for the Nunda Township picnic and the literature drop.

The campaign stuck around Chicago on Thursday. We attended the Heartland Institute Annual Dinner. Congratulations to  Joseph Bast, the president of the Heartland Institute for a successful event. The Heartland Institute does a wonderful job in their promotion of education and tax reforms and other important policies matter. They are being heard and making an impact everywhere as I crisscross this State and listen to voters angry with the current corrupt political system. Voters are tired of the ineffectual leadership from Springfield and want to see new direction.

House Leader Tom Cross and House Republican Organization chair Skip Saviano are leading the Republican renaissance in Illinois. They hosted a wonderful event at La Luce Restaurant in the west loop. Our House candidates and legislators are doing a great job in their efforts of recapturing the House. Wouldn’t it be great to have Speaker Cross in Springfield and this is the year to do it!!!

We need all your help!!!

Reminder..hope to see a lot of you at my event on Sep 18 at 6pm at the Wyndham Hotel Glenview (1400 Milwaukee Ave in Glenview). Any questions please let us know

Southern Illinois / the issues

I want to thank all the kind people of Southern Illinois as they have greeted me with open arms during the southern tour. It was a lot of fun and just a pleasure to listen to the important issues affecting the southern part of our state. Even though 350 miles separate Chicago and Carbondale, the most important issues people are talking about are no different whether you are from Northbrook or Marion. It’s about how we can create jobs in Illinois and how we are going to root out public corruption. These are the key issues facing all Illinoisans.

Whether I was talking at SIU law school or doing a TV or radio interview, the subject of the economy and corruption were on the forefront of everyone’s minds. The people of Illinois demand more from our leaders and they deserve it. We need to change the pay to play political machine so that the elected leaders serve the people and not the other way around.

The large gathering at Republican Day at the Duquoin Fair demonstrated that people want different leadership in Illinois. I am proud and honored to serve as a candidate during this crucial juncture in Illinois history, and if elected, I promise to uphold the great responsibility that the people have entrusted me with.
