Busy Saturday: Northfield Township, Lyons Township, Kane County…

We had a very busy Saturday. We started out early in the morning at my own local township, Northfield Township where I served as Trustee with the current committeman Jill Brickman. Jill and State Rep. Rosemary Mulligan of Maine Township hosted a candidates breakfast. It was great to see old friends and also made some new ones.
After Northfield, I spoke at the Lyons Township Republican (ROLT) monthly meeting. Commissioner Tony Peraica does a great job leading the organization.
We then headed to two picnics, one in Kane County for their annual candidates roundup. A Chicago Tribune reporter was there taking pictures for a story on our race. Mike Kenyon, who leads the county Republicans hosted a festive event with good food and entertainment. Bill Brady also attended the event.
After Kane, we drove north to the Nunda Township picnic in Crystal Lake.
After changing to a suit in the car, we attended the Illinois Municipal League’s reception. Matt Davidson of IML was gracious to take me around to meet the Mayors and city and village representatives. It was good to hear that the municipalities are working hard to bring industry back into Illinois…and also attract investment from overseas firms.
The evening ended at the Samahan Filipino American event in Oak Lawn. Congratulations to Marcela Perez for being crowned Ms. Samahan Sabarrio.
